I'm proud of the house we've built...

"I'm proud of the house we've built,
It's stronger than sticks, stones and steel.
It's not a big place sittin' up high on some hill,
A lot of things will come and go but love never will.
I'm proud. I'm proud of the house we've built."
~Montgomery Gentry

Saturday when Ross announced we only have TWO more Saturday meetings, it hit me: We've done it.

12 households worth of people who'd never met before have built a neighborhood, friendships, a community.

Standing in my living room, vacuuming up the floors and washing windows, I have superman powers. I see through the drywall, insulation, and wiring. I see a group of people hoisting up that wall, I remember the smiles, the joking, the cursing. I remember the good weather, and the TRULY crappy weather. Over the course of nearly a year, we have built twelve houses. Twelve homes. And we have grown as individuals, and as a group. I have never been more proud. I still grin when I crest that hill in the morning, even at 7:50 a.m. It's amazing, and we've done it!

Three of the houses recieved carpet last week. They have little things that need to be done, but they are essentially done. Six or seven more get carpet this week, and Josh & Anna and Ahren & I get carpet on the first. My house is almost fully trimmed, the plumbing, sinks, hot water heater and faucets are all in and functional. Everyone else is done up to this point. We have two and a half rooms of trim to finish and some closets, and we're done.

Done.

D-O-N-E.

November 10 the USDA will come inspect our houses, and hand 12 grinning idiots the keys to their brand new homes.

Amazing. :)

I think that first mortgage payment may be my favorite bill EVER! :)

I could not have asked for a better build group, a more amazing group of individuals to share this journey with. You all will forever be a part of my home and my heart.

Nostalgic already, and we're still a few weeks out. I am so thankful. Blessed. Amazed.

We're almost there, Kingston Cedars 1, and WE ROCKED IT!

I said I wasn't going to blog again...

....but I feel like it's the only thing that's keeping me sane!

Saturday morning I grumbled all morning about having to go out, how I wanted to be done, and how I was over it. Then I got there, and our COUNTERTOPS were in!!!! Our underlayment was in for vinyl, and Ahren was measuring for a porch. It was many beautiful sights!
Then I vacuumed, dusted, swept, and cleaned the house that love built for SIX HOURS STRAIGHT, and the next morning I could hardly get out of bed.

The rest of the crew spread topsoil and worked on trim. It's coming along...I just wish it were coming quicker!

Ross told me probably early to mid-November. I'd love to rally my neighbors, bust it out, and move in sooner, but frankly, I don't think any of us have it in us! We'll see...you just never know!

A few pictures to share:

Ahren Painting!

Our Floors!

Exterior lights!

Garage Graffiti!

Hopefully next week I'll be gushing on and on about how beautiful my vinyl is! :) And then after that my driveway (if it ever stops raining), my trim, and my landscaping!

And to all you garden-minded people...I'd LOVE for you to come help us landscape on Saturday. (I'll be hiding in a house somewhere...I hate gardening!) :)

Thanks all for following the journey! We truly appreciate your love and support!

Whoopsie...

Six weeks...sorry 'bout that.

The cold hard truth is I'm tired. I'm tired, I miss my family, and I want my weekends and family time back. I'm tired of begging for volunteer hours, babysitting, and worrying about how I'm going to piece it all again the next week. Those of you who know me know that I'm usually pretty "susie sunshine" about life, but I think I'm slipping a little! I know we're close to done, but I'm starting to hope I'm not in a padded room by the time we get there!!

The houses are looking amazing. I'm so proud everytime I drive up there. I love my neighbors, I love my house, and I love the feat we have accomplished. There are a few houses pretty much just waiting on CARPET and landscaping. Seriously. Say it with me. D-O-N-E! Most are waiting for doors/trim (and I hate trim). Everyone (including us) have their floor done! (YAHOO!) Everyone except us has entirely installed cabinets. Everyone else has vinyl installed, some people have their two-button toilets and sinks and countertops and fixtures. We are all really just working on trim and landscaping. My educated guess is we're looking at the first-ish of November, although I'd love for it to be the mid of Octoberish. I'd love to say to you "We're moving in four weeks". Geesh...just typing it made me get teary! I want some contractor fairy to come and finish the trim, and ross to say to me at the next Saturday morning "Two weeks and you're in!" (I say that now, but then I'd have to MOVE this house full of crap and that's a whole different ball of wax!)

So how about the house that love built? It's freaking fantastic. Really. It's gorgeous. I get all teary and smiley and goofy everytime I see it. Friday afternoon I went up to see if I liked the island where Ahren put it in. It's gorgeous. It's painted and pretty, it's lovely. We have light switches that turn on lights that have light fixtures installed. We have outlets. Real outlets. We have HEATERS in the main rooms, bathroom fans that run, and frankly I couldn't be happier about it. It's gorgeous. We drove the kids out Sunday to see the floor and lights, and our exterior light was turned on. It gave me goosebumps. It looked like people LIVE there. Like a home. Like the home that it is, and has been since we lifted that first wall. It looks like a house that love built, and it FEELS like the house that love built. Everyday.

So I guess at the end of the day, I'm tired. I'm ready to be done. I miss my life, I want it back. I want to call my neighbors and say "Let's BBQ" or "Let's have pizza", visit, and go home. But it's been worth it. Every single second of it. I have met some people who will be a part of my life forever. Some people who are truly a part of my heart, who I love like my own family, and who have shared an amazing adventure with me. Nothing will take that away...not even another 6-8 weeks of construction.

But I'm ready to be done. Let's hurry it up already. :)

Trust me...I've been doing YOU a favor!

A friend recently told me that she's been following my blog and always loved reading them. Then she mentioned maybe she hadn't read them in a while. I had to admit that I hadn't WRITTEN one in a while. BUT with very good reason.

YOU do not want to read over and over what we've been doing. Why? It can be summed up in one word.

Paint.

I mean, I could spiff it up a few ways.

Painterific.

Painterama.

Paintapalooza.

But it all boils down to paint.

Other things have been happening, but I've been so bogged down by, well...PAINT, that I forget to appreciate them! So here it goes.

ALL the houses are "done" with exterior paint. I say "done", because really if there's anything to be done, it's just a little teeny weensy touch up here or there, and most importantly, I need to believe we are D-O-N-E! Ahren and I spent 8 hours yesterday doing "touch ups" and such, as did most of our neighbors. Blek. Painting has been my least favorite part thus far, and I'm sure at the end, I'll say the same.

Tina, Zhan, Robin, Ashlee, Nathan, Robert and Garrett's houses are all done with paint...INSIDE AND OUT! The first 5 have cabinets, light switches, heaters, fixtures installed, and flooring sitting there waiting for the green light to get started (which Ahren can't wait for!) Robert's cabinets are partially installed, Garretts are probably in his garage (I didn't look), and Selina and Jerica's are in Ashlee's garage. Today Selina and Jerica's was taped off and Josh and Anna were just getting ready to spray primer down!

Anna & Josh and Pennoyers have drywall in, and Linda's was about half way done! I'm anticipating ALL drywall/sheetrock mud and tape will be completed by the middle of next week, if not sooner!

The house that love built passed electrical and framing inspection last week! The heating guy is running some interior pvc and hoses so we don't have them all over the exterior of our house (bless him), and then our insulation will be blown in on Tuesday!! Then sheetrock, paint, and cabinets! This part goes quick! (It's just the blasted painting that drags on forever!)

After that, we start laying the laminate for the floors. Laminate counter top, carpet and vinyl are installed by "professionals". We just bid on gutters, so that will be done soon. After laminate flooring and carpet are in, we just have trim work/doors and landscaping.

The excavator is coming to start final grade and driveways soon, too!

Ross keeps sticking to his November time frame, but I'm calling BOLOGNA! This group KICKS ARSE and we are SO going to be in before then!

Hopefully we are on to much more exciting things, and I will feel more motivated to share our progress without having to include the "P" word! :)

Thanks for following, and for your support, your help, your thoughts! Each and every one means the world to us!

Exciting new stuff!

Wow...I can't believe it's been almost a month since I blogged! CRAZY!

I guess I've felt like there's not much to tell you. We do a LOT of painting...I even learned how to paint interiors with primer on Tina's house! (I'm not a fan!) Almost all of the houses have their exterior paint on them, and people are working on trim. (Ross said by the end of July all the exteriors will be finished.) Tina, Zhan and Robin's cabinets were delivered last week (and they are HEAVY!). Tina has heaters and over head lighting installed, and Robin, Zhan and Tina's paint/texture is all done. Just a little trim painting on the exteriors and their houses will be finished on the exterior!

As I said, there's been a lot of painting, and waiting for the contractors to get through the houses. Linda posted a picture on facebook that made me laugh...it's a roofer, a sider, and two guys on the inside all working on her house at once! (I told her to stop being greedy and share the wealth!) :) We got windows installed last weekend, Tyvek, and our roof is half on (the shingles). The siders came and started yesterday, and we will be the last house to get siding! YAHOO! Hooray for "lasts!" From memory, Garrett & Amanda, Robert, Nathan, Ashlee, Selina & Jerica, Robin, Zhan and Tina's houses are all mainly painted. Linda, Pennoyers, Josh & Anna and ours are still waiting to be painted. The plumber was in our house this week, and I'm guessing as soon as all the windows are installed/roof is on, the electrician will come in, followed by the insulation guys, and then drywallers!

We are still a few months out, but Ahren and I have "chalked out" where our kitchen counters/island will be, and started figuring out where furniture will go. :)

I miss my neighbors. I don't know if it's because it's summer, or if it's because the work is a wee bit monotonous, but we are are rarely out there at the same time! I went out Sunday, and worked with Robin and her sister for a bit, Linda stopped by, Nathan and Zhan came right when I was about to leave, and Josh and Anna swung in to just say hi. I haven't seen all the others in nearly 2 weeks. With Ahren working days, he goes out a lot during the week and I stay home with the kidlets. This is another weekend I won't be out there..blek!

And it's worth noting that the second group has started in full force! I got to see them hoist their first wall up, and now I think they have four or five bottom floors framed, and were working on second story flooring on Sunday. I totally have framing envy! I loved framing! Now we paint. And paint. And paint. And paint. And paint. Did I mention paint? And then there's some more paint. Well, you get the point. :)

I was hoping we'd be in before November, but apparently Ross laughed when Ahren asked if this was a possibility. Drats. Oh well...it's nice to think we have just a little over three months left. That TOTALLY sounds do-able! :)

I'm going to put some pictures on the bottom here...I've been falling behind! :)

ROOF!!!

TA-DA!!!! :)

Friday morning at work, my lovely neighbor Ashlee sent me a picture of my ROOF going on! :) I think every person at district office saw that picture inside 10 minutes...SO EXCITING!

I was telling Anna earlier this week how I get so overwhelmed with pride and a sense of accomplishment every time I crest the hill to see our little neighborhood taking shape. Call me a sap, call me a dweeb, call me overly-sentimental, but it's true. I am so proud of my family, of my neighbors, my friends. Everytime I see a new house painted, I think "Right on, Sam! Good work!" (Sam is currently our resident paint expert!) Everytime I see a neighbor with new windows, siding, or sheet rock, it's exciting! Even the things we don't do ourselves are another step on the journey. It's incredible. So if I haven't said it lately, thank you to all my Kingston Cedars I neighbors. I truly care about all of you, and am honored to share in this adventure with you! :)

PICTURES! I think I promised 2 weeks ago, but here are some updates:

Tinas: Painted, sheetrocked, taped and mudded! :)

Zhans: Accent color went on AFTER I took this pic, sheetrocked, taped and mudded!

Robin: Also finished painting after the pic! :) I believe she's also mudded and taped.

Anna and Josh: Got all their windows in TODAY! :)
Pennoyers: Windows! YAY!

Linda: Has a roof now, too! :)

Selina and Jerica: Ready for Sheet Rock!

Ashlee: Ready for paint! :)

Nathan: Also ready for paint

Robert: Ready for Sheetrock

Garrett and Amanda: Also ready for Sheetrock! :)

Ross said Garage Doors are being delivered for the first few houses this week. GARAGE DOORS! And then CABINETS!!!!! YAHOOOOOOOOO!!!! :)

Until next week! :)

12 Houses

Yup...12 houses. That's what we have. Saturday we rolled out all of our trusses, while two other groups worked on Tyvek/Windows and painting. We have 12 houses COMPLETELY FRAMED. ##andthecrowdgoeswild## :)

Super Sam has been doing the exterior painting, and it looks great! Tina's house has both the accent and main color on, and looks great! Zhan's house has all the base color down (which is the same red that ours will be and I LOVE IT), and I wouldn't be suprised if there will be more painting this weekend!

Otherwise it's all the punch lists (you know how I love those), and little things that need to be done here or there. A good chunk of the houses have sheetrock, and I believe Ross said they were going to start on tape and mud. Linda's house had the roof and punch list completed yesterday. We will get roof sheeting sometime in the not so distant future, and then we will be tyvek and window'd. :)

I can't wait to start on the next big project (whatever that will be). I really liked framing. Really. Very instant-gratification, and I understood it! Now we are going to have painting, flooring, kitchens, landscaping...yup. you guessed it...I know nothing. All this wandering around with a list written in construction gibberish gives me a slight headache. I hope we have a super productive summer, and blow any other group out of the water as far as production time! LET'S GO CEDARS ONE! :)

Oh...and all our new neighbors started last week. 14 houses. I met our next door neighbor, and she seems really nice. :) Also, I was at the mall this week buying nail polish, handed the girl my debit card, and she looks up and said "Oh, you're Heather Ben-Judah." Uhhh...yeah? "We are going to be neighbors. I'm 23." To which I so poetically responded "Oh..you're the hole!" :) (There's a blank lot between Jerica and Linda..the hole.) It was so refreshing to look down from my second story window while the boys were rolling out our trusses and see that group laying down their first mudsil. I hated that. :) I muttered about how advanced we were now...to which Ross muttered back something and snorted. I think I'm glad I didn't hear him. :)

It's coming along. :) I fear the next phase is going to be a lot of little here-and-there stuff, and it's going to take a lot to keep us focused and motivated. BUT WE CAN DO IT! We're building a freaking community. That takes a whole lotta awesome...and we've GOT IT! :)

Happy Father's Day to all you dad's out there! :) Hope it's a relaxing day for you all! :)

From black and white to COLOR!!!!

Ok...not really black and white! But COLOR is so very exciting! :) Saturday, Sam and an entourage of Tina's family and friends put the first paint on a house! :) YAY! It's really amazing! By the time Ahren left on Saturday, 2 walls of Zhan's house were painted as well!

As for the rest of us, Ross didn't call it this, but we were TOTALLY punch listing! :) We did a few things on our house...fixing some un-square walls, finishing the stairs, putting up the scaffolding for the trusses (WHICH COME WEDNESDAY!), top plates, and Anna and I cleaned out the house, which was so lovely! It's really too bad we can't do something productive with sawdust, because we have TONS of it!

People were working on Linda and Pennoyers as well! Linda's will get trusses with ours on Wednesday. The last sets of trusses! :) I walked through Pennoyers and Linda's for the first time. There are things I LOVE about every house!! Three of the houses are drywalled, I believe almost everyone has plumbing/electric that's ready for it, Anna and Pennoyers should be ready for Tyvek/Windows soon! It's all coming right along.

We brought this silly little BBQ out on Saturday and grilled bratwursts and had chips with everyone. It was a beautiful day, and was so nice to have a little lunch break with everyone! :) I know how blessed I am to be in this project at all, but to be in it with people I truly admire, respect and care about is really more than I ever could have hoped for!

So next week we'll be rolling trusses, and doing more punch list stuff. I get such a sense of awe when I walk into one of the houses that has finished drywall. It's a HOUSE people...a house. No question. I remember when I'd look at the framing book, and it may as well have been something in greek. Now, not only do I completely understand those books, but I can walk in a house that I helped build and sit down on it's floor, lean against it's REAL wall, and plug something into it's outlet! What a sense of accomplishment!

I didn't take many pictures...ended up having to leave unexpectedly because I had a really sick baby at home! I'll get twice as many next week!

Til next week!

Remembering...

That top picture is Tina's house, January 30th of this year. I was so excited that there was WOOD on someone's lot, I think I danced around for two days!! Today, May 30th, is the bottom picture. What you can't see is that in addition to looking like a house (and having two next door neighbor houses), it has plumbing, electric, insulation and drywall. DRYWALL. In exactly four months, we have framed TWELVE houses. A group of people from all walks of life, all experience levels, have built 12 houses. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! When I woke up this morning, Jerica had commented on the top picture on my facebook account. She pretty much said we kick a** (which we do), and look how far we've come. Indeed. 4 months and 12 houses.

Friday, the trusses are coming for Linda's house and our house. Jerica and Selina's has been Tyvek'd and Window'd. (I love how those words have become verbs to me). Anna and Josh are waiting for sheeting, shear wall inspection, and then their house will be tyvek'd and window'd too, along with Pennoyers. Everyone else is pretty much waiting on something that a contractor provides (plumbing, electric, insullation, siding, or drywall.)

Today is a great day to remember. To remember how much we've learned, how far we've come, all the people who have supported us with words, actions, or thoughts. And to remember how truly lucky we all are to be here doing this. Together.

A few pics of our house, because it's amazing how much changes in a week!!!

Downstairs from the garage!

Upstairs from the back corner bedroom looking into living room
ME! (See...I DO work!) :)
Also, the rest of the neighborhood from our lot view:

Tina, Zahn, Robin
Anna and Josh, Pennoyers, Linda, Jerica and Selina, Ashlee, Nathan
Garett and Amanda, Robert
That's it! :) Since today is Memorial Day, a special thanks to Garrett and Robert, both of whom "did time" in the armed forces for our country, and to all you other's out there who are making or have made that same sacrifice!

Until next week! TRUSSES!!! :)

Mourning

It's true. I'm in mourning. My framing days are almost over, and I'm leery of what lies ahead! Saturday, Pennoyers and Anna & Josh's houses had the trusses rolled out. Linda's house and our house received their floor systems, so the second floors can be built. And then that's it. The end of our framing days. Zhan and Linda and Robert were out on Monday, and laid the floor down on the beams. Lines need to be chalked, stairs built, and then the last two framing packages will come. I like framing. I understand it. I'm fairly good at it. It's not complicated, monotonous, or a super long process.I will miss it when we spend months painting. And painting. And painting. And cleaning. Ross also says there's lots of cleaning. Joy. I don't even like to clean the house I LIVE in! BLEK!

So what's left? Anna & Josh's, and the Pennoyer's needs to have the roof sheeting done. Then sheer wall inspection. Then Tyvek and windows, and then the contractors come in. Linda's house and ours need the second floors built, trusses rolled, roof's sheeted, and then tyvek and windows. Then starts the interior work!

Tina's house had the insulation in when we were there Saturday. AMAZING. It SOUNDS different...so quiet. It's packed in white cottonish insulation. Not what I was expecting, but it looks really good!

Ahren and I picked all our selections. Cherry cabinets, Pergo burnished fruitwood floor, "peanut" carpet, don't remember what we picked for laminate counter top or vinyl, and our house will be a deep red with brown accent and soft white trim. It makes it so real that we actually have to PICK this stuff now! Tina's will probably be drywalled soon, and then we'll be doing finish stuff before we know it.

In September, a year of my life seemed SO LONG. I knew we'd get through it. I knew it'd be hard. But now here we are at the end of May, almost all the houses done with framing, and it seems like yesterday I was learning to use the router for mudsilling! I met Robert's sister this weekend, who built a house through the same program. They built 11 houses, and she said by the time they were entirely done framing, it was 3 months until move in. Now, I hate to get excited, but if that holds true for us, we're looking at the end of SEPTEMBER. Not November...SEPTEMBER! This would be such an amazing blessing! So hopefully that will help us all stay MOTIVATED! :)

So that's the update! I haven't uploaded the pics from this week, but I DID start an album of all the pics since February. You can see it at www.photobucket.com/thehousethatlovebuilt

Thanks for following our adventure! :)

Now THIS is the house that love built!!!

FINALLY, the day had arrived! WE GOT TO START OUR HOUSE!!! YAHOOOOOOOOOO! :)

Truth be told, I didn't care about NOT building our house...it's really fun to build, it's something I enjoy, and you just have such a sense of accomplishment over every wall, whether it's "yours" or not. It's something your hands helped build, and it's amazing.

But that feeling when you sink the first nail into your daughters bedroom wall,
 lift that same wall up,

and start the next is incredible. My husband says I was cranky, but I felt amazing all day. :) We got so much done...all of the "house" exteriors done (3 exteriors and the garage/house wall), and one of the three garage exteriors. Another one is built but laying down waiting to be sheeted.
We also have all our samples for carpet/laminate, trim/doors, cabinets and exterior paint. I was totally bummed out because yellow isn't a choice! :( But we'll pick something nice, and it'll look great!

I'm kinda guessing on the other houses for the update...it was 6 p.m. and I was on my way to sign out before I realized how far everything else had come, too! Besides those that are sitting in the "Waiting for contractor" category, we have:

Anna and Josh: There house is ready and waiting for trusses, which is the last stop on the "waiting for contractor" train! YAHOO! :)

Pennoyers: There house looks pretty close to ready for trusses, if it isn't already! I believe both they and Anna and Josh's are slotted to get trusses some time this week!

Linda: I believe Linda's house is scheduled to get the floor package on Friday, along with our house! Which means next weekend we'll be having two houses that need trusses, and two that need floor systems put in! Which means, Heather will be learning how to do something new! I've done nothing but frame since we started framing (well, besides that unfortunate week with the punch list!) This could be exciting! :P

When I look around Kingston Cedars, I see a neighborhood. Not just in the traditional sense, but in the sense that we truly are building a community. I know my neighbors. They are my friends, and people I care about. How many people get to move into a neighborhood like that?

Yup...this is the neighborhood that love built. And it rules. :)

Beating the weather odds...

Tina's and Zahn's
Weather.com said there was an 80% chance of rain all day on Saturday. Lovely. Nothing makes me dread a long day at Cedars more than rain!!! But amazingly enough, it was pretty much beautiful all day long. It spit on us once for a minute or two, and then a light rain for maybe 5 minutes.

I forgot to blog last week! Whoopsie! :) So a quick update!
Tina's, Robin's, Zahn's, Ashlees, Roberts and Garrett and Amanda's are to the point that they are waiting on some sort of something from a contractor (Roof, siding, electric, plumbing). Nathan's is almost to that point (he just needs the top layer of Tyvek and windows put in). Selina and Jerica's trusses were being rolled out and should have been finished yesterday. Pennoyers were having their flooring system for their second floor put in, Linda's second floor supports will be ready to go this week, and we built exterior walls on Josh and Anna's yesterday. Next weekend I anticipate we'll be rolling trusses on Josh and Anna's, building second floor exteriors on Pennoyers, and doing either flooring system or second floor exteriors on Linda's.

A few pictures from this week:
My step-dad Alan driving the big mover thingee!
Robin's
Electric! (Boogie woogie woogie!)

Looking down into Pennoyers from Anna's, Linda's house past that, and then Selina and Jerica's.

Sheeting an exterior at Josh and Anna's

This week we also voted on cabinets, flooring, and millwork (doors and trim). We are getting frameless cabinets (which are really nice! They were the ones I wanted), flooring from Lowes, and doors and millworks from I don't know where! :) It's the interesting part of bidding on this stuff as a group: It ends up being majority rules. We really wanted a different flooring supplier, only because we really had our hearts set on a certain look of laminate for our living spaces that the other bidders didn't have. We wanted a wide plank look dark floor, and Lowes doesn't have anything similar. We can get a similar color, but just in the normal looking width. Then Ahren starts talking about ripping things out IN MY BRAND NEW HOUSE!!! HELLO!!! I just spent a year of my life building this beautiful brand new house...I DON'T THINK SO. :) We'll continue that discussion at a different time! :) The best part of going through Lowes is that the flooring is a name brand laminate, and one of our neighbors works there and worked hard on getting those bids in. So we know what color and type our cabinets will be (Frameless cherry), our carpet is narrowed down to three colors (palace, lambskin, or civic), and we have our favorite of the laminate selections picked out.

AND THE BIG NEWS FOR THE WEEK.....

OUR LUMBER PACKAGE SHOULD COME THIS WEEK!!!!!! :)

This means it's POSSIBLE that next weekend we'll get to start our home!!! There's a lot to do next week with the houses that are already started, so I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but it's so exciting!!!! We are the last house to be started, which is a whole different kind of exciting! :)

Ahren just sent me a text from Cedars saying he just built Anna and Josh's first interior second floor wall! The progress each week still floors me...it is one of the most rewarding things ever!

Thanks for following us along this journey! Until next week...

The Update!

I have been awful about pictures, so I thought this week I'd do a quick update of all the lots, so we could get caught up! :)

First up is Tina's house:
From the stairway: All the blue are electrical boxes!
Siding finished!
ELECTRIC DONE!
As you can see, besides a few little things, Tina's house is pretty much ready for drywall! All the exterior stuff is done (except all the doors haven't been installed), the plumbing and electric are in, and it is all cleaned out and swept! It's so fun!

Next up is Zahn's house:
Zahn's house is next, and the siding is half done, the plumbing is in, and is waiting for electric!

Then come's Robin's:

Robin's is plummed and has electric ('m almost positive, anyhow), and is waiting on siding.

Lot 20 is Josh and Anna:

All bottom floor exterior and interior walls DONE!
Back wall, getting ready to put up joists
From the lving room, bathroom, pantry, kitchen
From the living room, down the hall
Josh and Anna's house will get floor joists this week, so we'll be putting down subfloor and 2nd story exteriors soon!

The Pennoyers will be next to Anna and Josh:

I know...it's not very exciting yet. BUT, we are getting their lumber package this week, so might possibly be starting their house this weekend! YAY!

Linda is in 22:
Linda's lumber package should be delivered this week as well! YAY!

There's a lot that's not in our build group next to Linda, and then Selina and Jerica's:

We finished all the second floor interiors and top plates this weekend. Trusses for their roof will be delivered on Wednesday!

Ashlee is next to them:

This weekend they finished all the Tyvek and Windows in Ashlee's house! :) I believe hers will be next in line for plumbing and electric!

Nathan lives next door to Ashlee:

Nathan's roof is done, and his house is ready for Tyvek and windows.

Down on the next row is Roberts house:

Robert's house is next to have the roof put on, and is also ready for Tyvek and windows.

Garrett and Amanda live next to Robert:

Garrett and Amanda's house is at the same point Jerica and Selina's is at. Trusses will be delivered on Wednesday!

As far as this weekend, people worked on finishing up Garrett's and Amanda's and Selina and Jerica's houses so they are ready for truss delivery on Wednesday. Ashlee's house had the Tyvek finished and windows put in. Then a bunch of us worked on cleaning up all the messes from plumbers, electricians and siders! We reorganized stacks of lumber, swept out the houses, threw trash away, etc. It looked SO much better! :)

We are at the point where there's nothing more we can do on practically 4 of the houses until we get to interiors. (Tina's, Robin's and Ashlee's. Zahns has a little bit of sheeting, but I'm not sure if we do that, or the roofers). Robert's and Nathan's aren't far behind, because as soon as they are Tyvek'd and window'd, we are just waiting for contractors to get in there. There are always a few little things that need to be done. The two that are getting trusses this week will just need the trusses rolled out, and then they will be ready for roof and then Tyvek and windows, and Anna and Josh's will start a second floor soon. Pennoyer and Linda's lumber packages will come this week as well!

As far as our home, (which of course I forgot to take a picture of), Ross said he thinks the lumber package will be delivered the first weekend of May! YAY!!! That is not far away at all! I'm so excited! Not just to see our home take shape, but to be framing the last of the 12 houses! As much as it bummed me out to be "last", it will be so cool to know that not only are we starting our home, but also finishing up the framing for the whole group!

The weather was gorgeous, we had a great time this weekend, and got a lot done!

I hope you all have a great Easter! Until next week,
Heather
